Alumni News: Kristen Miller Zohn Receives SMEC Award

FSU Art History congratulates alumna Kristen Miller Zohn (MA 1996) on receiving a Museum Leadership Award by the Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC). Initiated in 1994, the Museum Leadership Award recognizes museum professionals who have shown significant advancement within the profession by leadership in museum activities at his or her institution, within the museum profession as a whole, and especially in the southeast region.
Kristen Miller Zohn is Director of Collections and Exhibitions for the Columbus Museum, Columbus, Georgia. Kristen has proven to be a great leader in the museum profession through her exemplary work in education, collections and exhibitions. A Past President of SEMC, Kristen was a council member for eight years. At a time of great necessity for SEMC, Kristen provided the necessary leadership as President of the organization from 2008 to 2010. Kristen worked as the Curator of Art at the Albany Museum of Art from 1998 to 2001, and then served as Curator of Education at the Columbus Museum for six years before moving to the position of Curator of Collections and Exhibitions in 2007. She has also acted as a guest juror for several exhibitions, and has been an adjunct professor of art history at three institutions in Georgia as well as a contributing author for articles in numerous professional publications.
