Byzantine Studies Paper Previews TODAY at 6 in WJB G40

Three FSU medievalists will give previews of the papers they will present next month at the Annual Byzantine Studies Conference.  Join us on Monday evening, September 26, at 6:00 pm in WJB G40 and support your colleagues and professors as they prepare for this major conference.

Brad Hostetler (PhD, 2016): “Bone, Blood, Milk, and Oil: Examining the Relics of St. Panteleemon.”

Lynn Jones (Art History): “Cults? The Case of Nikephoros II Phokas.”

Robert Romanchuk (Modern Languages): “Digenis Akritis and Bilingual Oral Tradition in the Balkans.”

The annual meeting of the Byzantine Society of North America is the premier North American conference of scholars specializing in Byzantine art, history, paleography, and archaeology.  This year’s meeting will take place at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York from Thursday evening, October 6 to Sunday, October 9, 2016.
