Published June 23, 2017

Michelle IbarraRecent Art History graduate Michelle Ibarra (BA ’17) has been accepted for an archival internship with the  Smithsonian American Art and Portrait Gallery Library  through the Katzenberger Foundation for the summer of 2017. The Foundation provides six positions each summer, and this is the second time Ibarra has been selected for the prestigious internship. Last summer, she interned at the Smithsonian’s Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage researching its office folk art collection in preparation for an online exhibit marking the 50th anniversary of the Folklife Festival.  This year she will be interning with Anne Evenhaugen at the Smithsonian Libraries branch, processing a recently acquired collection of ephemera from the Art Students League of New York.

Ibarra graduated in May 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Art History and minors in Museum Studies, Anthropology, and History. She ultimately hopes to become a curator of Native American material culture.
