Talks: G40 WJB
Tea: Art & Design Library
Alternating Fridays at 4 pm
This spring the Department of Art History hosts a series of alternating lectures and tea with the faculty on Friday afternoons. On Friday, March 15, and April 19, join us in the Art & Design Library (2020 WJB) for a casual tea with the faculty. All Art History grads, majors, and minors welcome – bring a friend!
On alternating Fridays, join us in G40 WJB for public lectures by Art History professors and doctoral candidates.
On Friday, March 1, Art History doctoral candidates Rachel Fesperman and Ashley Lindeman will present run-throughs of papers they are giving at conferences this spring. Rachel will discuss the politics and connotations of Niki de Saint Phalle’s early tirs, in which the artist offered a .22-caliber rifle to participants and invited them to feu à volonté, to fire at will. Ashley will discuss the implementation of mosaic murals under the Italian Fascist regime and their connections to the Ancient Roman and Byzantine empires.
