Alumna Watson Receives Fulbright-Terra Award for 2018

Keri WatsonDr. Keri Watson (PhD 2010), Assistant Professor of Art History at the University of Central Florida, has been awarded a Fulbright-Terra Foundation Award in the History of American Art to teach in Beijing, China in 2018. The Fulbright Program, which aims to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries, is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government. Established in 1978, the Terra Foundation for American Art is dedicated to fostering the exploration, understanding, and enjoyment of the visual arts of the United States for national and international audiences.

“I look forward to the opportunity to design and teach innovative curriculum in the history of American art at either Tsinghua or Peking University in Beijing. Art history provides a powerful vehicle for cross-cultural dialogue and increased mutual understanding, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with Chinese faculty and students to inspire the next generation of art history scholars in China.”
