Save the Date! Art History Alumni Day: October 20, 2025

Art History

We enjoyed our inaugural Alumni Awards ceremony so much, we’re expanding the event into a full day of activities in the fall of 2025! All alumni are invited to join us.

On October 20th, we’ll host social gatherings, open seminar meetings to guests, and take golf-cart tours around campus. At the end of the day there will be special presentations and discussions with this year’s three Alumni Award winners:

Emerging Professional:
Kailea Myrick, Curator of the Ritz Theatre and Museum in Jacksonville. Kailea manages museum tours and education, exhibition design, venue rentals, and community partnerships. She specializes in creating public programs to build community engagement with the museum.

Professional Achievement:
Jennifer Feltman, Associate Professor of Art History, University of Alabama Tuscaloosa. Dr. Feltman is a specialist in the art and architecture of medieval Europe whose research focuses on Gothic sculptural programs. Feltman’s current research uses 3D modeling to examine the layers of paint on the sculptures of the Last Judgment portal of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris.  She is conducting this work as a member of the Chantier scientifique de Notre Dame, a team of scientists and historians authorize to study the fire-ravaged cathedral as it is being restored.

Professional Achievement:
Tanja Jones, Associate Professor of Art History, University of Alabama Tuscaloosa. Dr. Jones’s research focuses on the fifteenth-century courts of northern Italy, innovations in personal commemoration, and objects demonstrating intersections between the courts of Italy, France, and Byzantium. Dr. Jones also co-directs the digital humanities project Global Makers: Women Artists in the Early Modern Courts, the first synthetic effort to address the role Early Modern women played as producers of visual and material culture in the courts of Europe and Asia.
