Doctoral Student Danelle Bernten Publishes Thornton Dial Exhibition Review and Presents Paper on Basquiat

Doctoral student Danelle Bernten has published an exhibition review of the Thornton Dial show at the Wiregrass Museum of Art in Dothan, AL, in the arts magazine Number Inc. Danelle’s review, “Dialing the Boss: Thornton Dial’s Works on Paper at Wiregrass,” covers the exhibition I, Too, am Thornton Dial, which is open through March 25, 2023.

Danelle also presented her paper “Worship and Warnings: Basquiat’s Portrait of the Vodou Loa, Baron Samedi” at the Annual Meeting of the Southeast Region of the American Academy of Religion, to be held at Mercer University in Atlanta March 10-12, 2023.
