Duval-Carrié Exhibition Travels to Florida Atlantic University

Published January 3, 2019

Decolonizing Refinement: Contemporary Pursuits in the Art of Edouard Duval-Carrié, an exhibition that originated at Florida State University’s Museum of Fine Arts, is showing at Florida Atlantic University’s Schmidt Center Gallery in Boca Raton, Florida through February 2, 2019. A portion of the show which includes the Kingdom of This World panels is also on display at the Spady Museum in Delray Beach, Florida through April 26. The exhibition of the work of Haitian-American artist Duval-Carrié was originally co-curated by FSU Art History professors Paul Niell and Michael Carrasco and alumna Lesley Wolff. Khaulah Naima Nuruddin, FAU’s Museum Education Coordinator, serves as curator for this iteration. A series of multi-disciplinary public programs will coincide with Decolonizing Refinement throughout January 2019.  For a walkthrough of the original exhibition and interview with the artist, see the FSU Art History Vimeo page.
