Professor Lynn Jones presented a paper on her recent work, “A Re-Examination of the Middle Byzantine Iconography of Constantine and Helena,” at the 24th International Congress of Byzantine Studies, held in Venice this August. While in Venice, she was also asked by the popular nonprofit organization Smarthistory, The Center for Public Art History, to record an episode on a medieval tondo that is embedded in a wall in a small courtyard.
Her episode will be available soon – as will a larger report on her trip to Istanbul with students and her own research in central Turkey this summer.
