In the fall of 2023, Art History MA student Rhamira Corbett was selected to participate in the Women’s Leadership Institute sponsored by the Center for Leadership & Service and by Women for FSU. This 3-day event for 50 undergraduate and graduate students is led by faculty, staff, and alumni, and focuses on leadership skills, healthy self-esteem and authenticity, and developing relationships. Rhamira writes:
My fully immersive experience of the Women’s Leadership Institute weekend was dynamic! One of my favorite moments in the conference was meeting other graduate students that’re housed in other FSU departments. We formed bonds over grad life successes and struggles, and even discussed what we’d like to do to make changes within our colleges. Today, we still keep in contact and encourage one another as women in navigating grad school. The postgraduate experience can be challenges, but it’s a lighter load when women in leadership are by one’s side.
