This is an opportunity for graduate students or recent MA/PhD graduates to gain hands-on technical experience and help us improve collection accessibility. The foundation is seeking students pursuing a graduate degree in information studies, history, public history, library science, museum studies, a related program, or a recent graduate from such a program; as well as a biological anthropologist or archaeologist to help with the bone fragments and potsherds that are in the collection. https://www.keysdiscovery.com/collections
Working alongside a senior museum professional, the interns will be processing donated collections.
The work includes:
Rehousing and planning collection storage, using the best methods of preventive conservation
Environmental monitoring and insect control recommendations
Data entry-Documentation of the collection with CatalogIt
Digitization and photo editing, including processing videos
Research the materials
We are looking for 8 interns for a 4-week session July 11-August 4.
