Meet the Writers: Undergraduates Preparing April Newsletter Articles

Published March 6, 2018

Fifteen undergraduates in Jean Hudson’s Information Technology for the Art Historian class (ARH 2814) will research and write articles this month for the April department newsletter and website. Incorporating interviews, short engaging essays, and online publishing, the new project is designed to help prepare students for the kind of marketing and outreach writing assignments they may encounter in museum and education professions. The assignment also gives undergraduates a chance to get to know other Art History students, professors, and alumni, and research possible career paths and new technologies for teaching. Topics for this semester will include alumni and student profiles, advice on the grad school application process, interviews with interns at The Ringling Museum, and Using Google Cardboard for Art History Instruction.

ARH2814 students, Art History majors unless otherwise noted. Front: Sahara Lyon, Meg Barrett, Maria Tsirigotis, Savannah Elliott, Kellie Antonowicz (Env.Science/Statistics), Bridge Wilson (English). Back: Instructor Jean Hudson, Rebecca Clendinen, Gillian Boyce (Physics/Astronomy), Delaney Pantley (Fine Arts), Annette Bohn, Natalia Martinez, Eliza Schneider-Green, Justin Sosnicki, Olivia McGuire, Michael Wood.
