Spring Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series Opens with Scherezade Garcia

The Art Department will host four visiting artist & scholar lectures this spring, kicking off this week with Scherezade Garcia, an interdisciplinary visual artist born in The Dominican Republic and based in Brooklyn. Several of Scherezade’s works are currently showing in the lower gallery at the Museum of Fine Arts. Through her practice of drawing, painting, installation, sculpture, animated videos, and public interventions, she creates contemporary allegories of history, colonization, and politics. Her talk will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, January 31 in Fine Arts Building 249.

All talks are held in 249 FAB and are open to the public.
