PhD candidate Gabriela Germana was invited to participate in a panel at the ARCO Madrid International Contemporary Art Fair from February 27 to March 3, 2019. ARCO Madrid, now in its 38th year, is one of the most well-attended art fairs in the world, attracting about 90,000 visitors to the Spanish capital every year. Each year one country is selected for particular attention at ARCO; this year contemporary Peruvian art was highlighted in exhibitions and talks.
Gabriela participated in the panel “Redefining Art from the Andean, Indigenous and Amazonian Contemporaneity” on Friday, March 1 at 12.30 pm. She also served as a judge for the Kuna Women Award granted by the Peruvian and Spanish chapters of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The award is intended to highlight the participation of Peruvian women artists in ARCO, recognizing the trajectory and international presence of one of the artists exhibiting in the fair.
